Wildwoodians, we are pleased to present the Limited Edition CE 24-08 Black Limba, one of the coolest PRS sound machines we've ever had the privilege of showcasing! This rare bird features a solid body made of beautiful black limba (also known as korina), which is quite a rare phenomenon. It also makes these guitars absolute sonic powerhouses. Though similar to its more-common cousin mahogany in terms of warmth and midrange punch, korina is a livelier tonewood with more harmonic information and a more present top-end. And, it looks absolutely gorgeous to boot! The satin nitro lacquer finish gives this CE 24-08 an unpretentious, earthy, rustic yet elegant style that proves that simple isn't a synonym for easy.

Pugnacious PRS Pickups

Speaking of simple, it's easy to dial in a ton of sweet tones with the Black Limba CE 24-08's intuitive controls. The two 85/15 humbuckers sit somewhere near the middle on a scale of vintage to modern, and they give you the best of both worlds. They have the sweetness of a vintage pickup, but they sound richer with deeper lows and sparklier high-end, and they have outstanding clarity, articulation, and balance. So, you can really ladle on the gain without any mush or mud creeping in. That extended frequency range works beautifully with the rich sound of black limba, giving it the sort of humbucking sound that fits like a glove in almost any musical context except for polka, and it might even work there, too!

Speaking of fitting in everywhere, the CE 24 Semi-Hollow also has two mini-toggles for coil-splitting, and the single-coil sounds are remarkable as well. The bridge pickup has lots of bite, quack and twang, the neck pickup is throaty and smooth, and the middle position jangles like nobody's business. It's also quite fun to mix humbucking and single-coil sounds in the middle position to find all sorts of subtle shades of tone color. Basically, when split, these pickups allow you to grab a lot of classic T- and S-style tones, making the CE 24-08 Black Limba a remarkably versatile instrument.

To top it off, the CE 24-08 Black Limba comes equipped with an uber-fast Pattern Thin neck with old-school bird inlays and a 10" radius, which looks cool and plays like Crisco-coated butter.
