Used 2008 Tom Bills Genesis II Fanned Fret Nylon String
Sonic Evaluation
Wildwoodians, we'll put it plainly: this Tom Bills Genesis II nylon-string is a holy grail guitar. Tom Bills is your favorite guitar builder's favorite guitar builder, and this serial is a marvelous example of his craftsmanship. The German spruce top and Brazilian rosewood back and sides are a pair made in heaven, combining to create a lush, rich tone that is somehow also magnificently clear and articulate. I don't know if I've ever heard a guitar that produces such powerful, weighty single-note lines even with a light attack. Full chords produce a lovely rainbow of sweet harmonic resonance, too. Simply put, if you're looking for a nylon-stringed instrument with fanned frets and a rich voice, this guitar is your apex predator. I have no doubt you'll find it as special as I did!
Condition Report
This Tom Bills classical shows moderate signs of normal use that are perhaps a bit more noticeable because of the French polish finish, which shows wear a little more readily than lacquer. There are no real big scratches, nail scratches or dings, but there are light ones throughout the finish, with a few slightly larger ones that are a bit more noticeable. The frets are in fantastic shape, so it's ready to bring the nylon-stringed thunder (you think I'm joking, but wait 'til you hear that low E string!) for a long time. A previous owner was kind enough to install a K&K pickup, so you can set the stage ablaze and make every other classical guitar enthusiast in the crowd green with jealous rage when they hear your tone. It all comes wrapped up in a blue Calton fiberglass case, which has some cosmetic wear but is sturdy enough to survive the zombie apocalypse.
